Deco Ginger Rum
Deco Ginger Rum
Objective Notes
Smooth (on the RnD scale of Harsh-Smooth-Very Smooth-Extremely Smooth)
Deco Ginger rum is pale blond in color which is resultant from the ginger used to naturally flavor the rum. As you would expect the dominant aroma is ginger, but the delivery is softer than expected and has a sweet and slightly fruity undertone. The initial taste is bold and spicy revealing a light body, appropriate for this style of flavored rum. A heavier body would overwhelm your taste buds to the point of masking the delicate flavors. An unapologetic strong ginger flavor evolves rapidly. A long finish is dry and spicy from the natural ginger flavor.
Anecdotal Notes

The rum is distilled from molasses in a reflux still that is a combination of a pot and continuous column still. It’s aged a short period of time, and ginger is added in for natural coloring and flavoring. It’s handsomely packaged in a tall clear bottle with a art deco black label and silver foil top, with a cork cap.
Taster’s Opinion
Roger – Deco Ginger rum is a unique and bold new rum. Its strong, unapologetic flavor isn’t intended to be enjoyed neat or on the rocks, but rather in outstanding cocktails or simply with your favorite soda. Worthy of adding to your collection whether you are an award winning mixologist, ginger lover, or just rum fan.
Dave – Unique even among spiced rum, I’ve not tasted anything else like it. Perfect for cocktails that require some ginger essence and spice. While Deco’s Ginger rum is smooth enough to sip neat or with a little ice, it really deserves a custom recipe that rewards the spicy ginger flavor. Deco’s Ginger rum has wide appeal for cocktails, it can be used as the singular spirits foundation for a tasty cocktail, or as a splash for a zesty pick-me-up to many Caribbean concoctions.
