Pampero Aniversario (Roger’s Review)

Objective Notes
Very Smooth (on the RnD scale of Harsh-Smooth-Very Smooth-Extremely Smooth)

Ron Pampero Anniversario is dark amber, almost light chestnut in color, and a bit darker than most rum. You catch aromatic hints of sweet molasses and vanilla. Your first sip reveals a slightly creamier rum with an almost buttery smooth viscosity. Again, this is a quality not found in most other rums of this age. Flavors of molasses, sweet tobacco, caramel, and toffee are soon discovered. It finishes smooth, warm, and a slight bit spicy. Nice!

Anecdotal Notes

Dave recommended that I try Ron Pampero Anniversario and I was glad I did. He said it was a great standby rum that never disappointed him. The short "squat" bottle comes in a handsome hand made leather bag which is unique to this rum.

Anniversario is really unique from the packaging to the smooth layered flavors that are well balanced. It would be very easy to pick this rum out of a tasting line up.

Taster’s Opinion

Roger - This is an everyday rum that can be enjoyed anytime. I really like it on a cold day next to a fire. It has a unique flavor and strong character that I like. I would only recommend this rum served neat or on the rocks as it certainly isn't meant for cocktails. It's also a great value as it's priced lower than many competitors.
