Weber Haus Silver
Weber Haus Silver
Objective Notes
Very Smooth (on the RnD scale of Harsh-Smooth-Very Smooth-Extremely Smooth)
Weber Haus Cachaça is clear as water in the bottle and glass. A pure, slightly sweet aroma with pronounced cane and earthy lemon grass is easily detected on the nose. More delicate is the hidden aroma of almond and cinnamon.
The body is refined, mildly warming, notable for cane, but also licorice and the slightest hint of cumin spice. Weber Haus Silver finishes pleasant, exhibiting a mild lingering lemon butter flavor with a slight bit of spicy warmth.
Anecdotal Notes
Weber Haus distillery prides itself on controlling all aspects of production to a high standard, from the growing and cultivation of the sugar cane, to its milling by double grinding, the use of stainless steel fermentation tanks, and several small copper pot stills with electronic temperature control, and finally maturing the Cachaça in wood. In the case of the Silver, it is aged for one year.
The clear bottle is topped with an embossed screw cap with it’s name proudly displayed, and is straightforward but attractive, with a small understated label, some stylized sugar cane painted on the front, and a rendition of the distilling room with its copper pot stills on the back.
Weber Haus Silver is positioned well for upscale bars and clubs that appeal to drinkers looking for something special. The Silver cachaça is new to the US market, and is already gaining accolades. Voted Best in Show - White, at the 2008 San Francisco World Spirits Competition, Weber Haus is poised to gain a popular following.
Taster’s Opinion
Dave - Weber Haus Silver strikes an excellent balance between sipping and mixing. Smooth and flavorful on its own, its clean, with just the right undertone of cane and citrus. It makes a fine, Caipirinha, works especially well in a Brazilian Wax, and puts a new cane-flavored dimension on a Mojitio or Lemon Drop.
Roger - Weber Haus is an excellent cachaça recently introduced into the US market. I enjoy it neat but with its clean and pure flavors make it a good choice for many cocktails. The Weber Haus Distillery has hit the target of what they were striving for: an excellent Cachaça at a good price.
